ABOUT US
OUR MISSION
"Our Mission at Canine Assisted Therapy is to enhance and empower the lives of individuals facing physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges through specialized therapeutic interactions with trained therapy dogs. We are dedicated to creating an environment of healing, growth and progress, and fostering the unique bond between humans and dogs for therapeutic benefit."
We aim to save lives by bringing together support for these three populations:
-
At-Risk Youth.
-
Veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
-
Shelter Dogs with Little Chance of Adoption.
C.A.T.S. (Canine Assisted Therapy Services) is a program developed by renowned canine behaviorist, trainer, and prevention specialist, Anthony Gordon. The C.A.T.S. program is designed to utilize canine training and behavior to identify human challenges. Through this therapeutic experience, participants focus on the animal's behavior while gradually embracing and understanding their own. At C.A.T.S. human & canine interactions are focused on social emotional learning (SEL) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques using trained therapy dogs.
